Jurassic World Dominion, A No-Spoiler Review

Hi friends! Who else is ready for summer movies?! We’re so excited for so many great films hitting the theaters over the next few months and I have to say that we’ve been waiting for THIS ONE for years! And thanks to my friends at Frost Communications, we got a preview of Jurassic World Dominion, in theaters Friday, June 10th!

This summer, experience the epic conclusion to the Jurassic era as two generations unite for the first time. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are joined by Oscar®-winner Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill in Jurassic World Dominion, a bold, timely and breathtaking new adventure that spans the globe. From Jurassic World architect and director Colin Trevorrow, Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live—and hunt—alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures. Jurassic World Dominion, from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, propels the more than $5 billion franchise into daring, uncharted territory, featuring never-seen dinosaurs, breakneck action and astonishing new visual effects.

The perfect summer flick! While it doesn’t quite hold a candle to the first film of the series, we did like it better than the second. I think YOU will really like it too, here are my top 3 reasons why:

The Action

I have to say that this was probably the most action-packed Jurassic movie to date. Not only are there dinosaurs, but some real-world sequences that make the scenes truly a work of art! I found myself holding my breath so many times! And at the end of the movie, the action is really what stood out to me.

New Friends

For my kids, the addition of new dinosaurs this time around, and getting “back to the roots” of real dinosaurs, excited them. For dino enthusiasts you get to see quite a few dinosaurs on screen that you don’t typically see in dino-themed flicks.

Old Friends

I have to say I’m a sucker for nostalgia. So bringing back the crew from Jurassic Park just made the movie. I do think they could have played up the nostalgic aspects of the crew getting back together a little more, but just know that it’s not overly cheesy or overdone…which I’m sure is what they’re going for.

THE CONCLUSION?

See it! This is a great way to kick off the summer, epic fun for Jurassic fans.

IS IT OK FOR KIDS?

This film is rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America for intense sequences of action, some violence and language. Our kids are very familiar with Jurassic films so we took them all. I do have to say that we kept our youngest nearby to guard him from some of the scarier sequences. Overall, I think it’s great for kids 10+ and for the younger ones if they are sensitive to dinosaur violence maybe wait to see it at home or go in knowing that you may have to keep them close during the film.
